Countdown to the inevitable: 22
Ramones - ‘The Job That Ate My Brain’

I’ve become a mental case
Yeah, this is the job that ate my brain’

Bob Dylan - ‘Maggie’s Farm’
I ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s farm no more.
Well, I try my best
To be just like I am,
But everybody wants you
To be just like them.
They sing while you slave and I just get bored.
I ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s farm no more.
Countdown to the inevitable: 24
The Police - ‘Dead End Job’
‘I don’t want no dead end job
I don’t wanna be no number’
Countdown to the inevitable: 25
Ramones - It’s Not My Place (In The 9 to 5 World)

No it’s not my place (no no!)
No it’s not my, not my, not my place
In the 9 to 5 world’
Countdown to the inevitable: 26
The Kinks - ‘Dead End Street’

Mumford & Sons - Home (New Song, Live)
The pressure’s on for Bob Dylan’s recent live collaborators to deliver a sophomore effort that will stand up to the massive success of their debut, but all signs — namely, live previews and a reverent cover of the National’s “England” — point to the English folk troupe seamlessly settling into a comfortable transition for LP2, said to be completed by the end of the year. Their latest new tune, a love song from the road speculatively titled “Home” by fans, has been debuted on summer tour dates and for an in-studio performance on Colorado radio station KBCO. Hear the latter take above.
